Well said. We are slowly ‘bubble-wrapping’ our entire society so that we don’t have to think about our own safety, in real-time. Most of the time when someone is injured by a vehicle, it’s not because the everyone was following the rules, it’s because someone made a mistake and/or didn’t follow the rules (including the pedestrians). Lowering the speed limit would encourage J-walking as well. I already see enough careless mothers with young children standing on the yellow line waiting for a break in traffic as cars zip past at 50 or 60k. So lets lower the limit so these idiots can feel safer not-following the laws..
